Why Do You Still Have A Civic?
First off this is thread is not meant to flame anyone in any way. Check my sig I use to drive an HB and still have lots of love for Hondas.
However I noticed with some people, they'll have an accident with their Civic and get another one or have one stolen and get another one.
So I'm wondering why do you still drive Civics? what attracts you to them? Why do another Civic if you've already had one?

Theyre cheap, easy to work on, and easy to make fast. Honestly, thats why I have mine. Oh yeah, and I can't afford anything else.

I only have mine still because I'm in a state were no one has any money.
I'll always keep a civic around but I'm kinda done trying to make them fast.

its bad enough they wrecked it, but now that have to buy something to replace it....most ppl don't have the option to buy whatever they "want"
and what's wrong with civics?
I  mine
mainly got it b/c I needed a cheap reliable car = honda civic
and now that I have got into "supping" it up...I realize that there's a huge market for civics as far as parts, etc.
and prices are good b/c they produce so many, cause so many ppl have civics.
Thats why its fun to have one too...its fun to make it unique and your own.
i.e.= a friend drives a corvette, he was shopping for coilovers the same time as me. Civic coils ranged from $150-2000, while corvette coils started at $2000.
I really want a prelude

Re: Why Do You Still Have A Civic? (civicgirl114)
i drive it because there affordable
i cant afford the car i wanted g35 coupe
but i can afford a 2400 dollar cx hatch
and i can save the $ for nice motor and suspention
its cool not having car payments either
if im low on $$ i just dont buy an new goodies and i dont have to worry about my car being repossed
insurance is cheap
kinda embarasing when my friends have bmws and Mercedes but screw it

Now having 3, I think it becomes a sort of addiction. People love to hate them, and even when they lose a race, they can't wrap their head around how a "shitty car" can be fast, handle well etc. I just like the fact you DO NOT need R/AWD to win races.

I'll agree with what she said as well. Parts are cheap, and so are aftermarket parts. Also, I was working on a Prelude yesterday and decided I no longer wanted one after trying to just put a rearview mirror back on and run some amp wiring.

Re: Why Do You Still Have A Civic? (REVHARD_EF)
they make excellent budget track cars or autox cars that can be very competitive against cars 5-10 times its value.
insurance is cheap
great gas mileage
fun to drive(just like a go cart )
if i had lots of money id be racing a porsche gt2. but since im poor i race a civic.

Re: Why Do You Still Have A Civic? (ek four)
I had an s2k, but I like to mess with things too much to have a payment on my car. The aftermarket support for the Civic is as good as you are gonna get for any econobox.

Re: Why Do You Still Have A Civic? (GERM)
Insurance is the main reason I still own a civic wouldnt be able to stand paying 150-200 a month just for insurance. Plus it was my first car 5 years ago now and has been through alot of changes and honestly sounds wierd but it actually means something to me, so even after I get done with school and can hopefully get a decent job I think I will keep the civic around and maybe add an S2k to sit along side it.

i like bein the underdog. whenever i boost my y5, i wanna pull up next to a 'stang or camaro and give them a run for their money. this doesnt mean beat them, but make them think holy **** like at this little 4 banger right next the me. also what ricey said. they are extremely easy to work on and cheap.

Re: Why Do You Still Have A Civic? (zigs)
-good autox car (light weight, vtec, etc.)
-great on gas!
-excellent insurance rates ($94/month)
-abundance of aftermarket parts
-can drive it up to 200,000+ miles (virtually bomb proof)
-cheap swaps compared to other companies
-etc, etc, etc.
(by the way I drive a 2000cx hatch...)

Re: Why Do You Still Have A Civic? (jolt-tsp)
after owning three civics ive been looking into getting another car, something inexpensive with a factory turbo and has some aftermarket support. right now nothing is really appealing to me. all the inexpensive turbocharged cars seem to be ugly as hell (i.e. isuzu impulse, 1st gen DSM) and all the good looking turbocharged cars are expensive as hell.
so, why not own an inexpensive, reliable car that looks good and is easy to make fast? there's so much aftermarket support for civics that there are endless possibilities.

Re: Why Do You Still Have A Civic? (phillycx)
man im tired of hearing people say that thats all they can afford. think of how mucn money a lot of people dump into their hondas turbo swaps suspension everything. thqa adds up a lot. the only reason i have a honda is because i have terrible credit and cant get approved for a new car. i ahve over 10,000 in my car in the last 4 months. i knowi can afford a new car just can not get approved for a new car.
