Dry ice around IC piping? effective? Legal?
was at my local track and a guy there was running a removeable box around his Intercooler piping and he was putting dry ice into it to keep the IAT down. wondering if it would even work or be legal. i remember they use to have those old Fuel Cooler Cans back int he day not sure if those are still around. but thought i would share.

i was thinking about this a few months ago when i was working with dry ice. i think it would be effective and i haven't seen any rules against it. you just have to make sure it's attached in some sort of nice container that won't come apart or fall off the car. you also need some kind of bleeding provision so the container doesn't explode as the ice sublimates. <<-

Paradise Racing is now using dry ice in the Celica. Pan-Americans was the first event they used the dry ice in the intercooler.
i'll be running a dry ice intercooler on my gtir.

dry ice is very easy to make and a tank of CO2 and a sealed container you can make a lot of it at the track on the day you need it. since dry ice isnt wet and doesnt really cause condensation it shouldnt be an issue with most tracks
