what different between Q16 and Methanol engine setup? any picture with methanol setup!!
what different between Q16 and Methanol engine setup?
i have to import Q16 to my country and it's very expensive. So i decide to go with methanol.
thanks for all your help

Right you don't have to change ****. Get a pump and injectors. If you run a aftermarket cell and lines and regulator everything should be fine. I'm getting lazy I just leave that **** in there for weeks and go.
i already got used Aeromotive Billet Belt Drive Fuel Pumps and 8 1600cc injector.
-do i have to do higher compression for mathanol? ( change from 9:1 to 10.5:1). or 9:1 is ok with it.
-how about HP? any different with the same boost?
-any picture of the setup!!!!!
thanks

I have seen problems with those areomotive mechanical pumps on methanol, we went through a few, they would always wear and lose their seal.
You don't have to change your compression by any means. I think the reason you see such high compression methanol setups is because you can run high compression with meth and it is pretty safe, it wont detonate like gasoline.
As far as horsepower, Im not familiar with Q16 but I have heard it is similar to VP Import. We were able to get some pretty similar numbers out of the VP Import to those of methanol but the methanol did make more horsepower and good torque gains over gas.

I would definately run the Kinsler stuff if I had the money to redo the fuel system right now and if I wanted to run mechanical. I have had an Aeromotive electric pump on the car for 2 years now and it works perfectly. Everyone said we would wear it out in a few races...but so far so good. Knock on wood
Also, to answer your question about motor differences between alcohol and gas setups. I know people do things differently so I'm sure some people will disagree.
You don't to change anything with the motor, but if you are wanting to build an alcohol specific motor, we run a different piston package and a larger port on alcohol motors. You have a lot more fuel pouring in there and from what we have seen...the larger we go with the port the more power regardless of what happens to velocity.
Your tune-up will be more forgiving and the temps are great. I think gas stinks

Call and talk to Scott. He can answer any questions you have about switching to methanol.

Like a bunch of others had said, you will need a fuel system that can deliver the damned fuel that meth calls for. When I was looking into running meth I called Kinsler and Scott pretty much told me 8 160lb injectors (8 1600cc) a mechanical pump (usually watermen) duel rails, meth compatible filter, anodized fittings, meth compatible regulator. Some guys do oil changes after every track day.
