Ok so yesterday my car started overheating. Car doesn't have to be in boost at all it can just be from normal driving. According to datalogging the temp stays around 205 degrees until i stop and start giving the car load (stopped at a light) after a few stop and goes weather in boost or not the cars temp will start rising and will not go back down. Here's what i have discovered so far.
1. The upper Radiator hose is rock hard with pressure and very hot, the lower radiator hose has pressure but is DEAD COLD
2. Thermostat was removed and tested. Started opening at 185 and was fully open by about 195-200 degrees.
3. Radiator was just removed, coolant looks good and i hooked a garden hose up to the radiator to see if it was clogged, flows great.
4. Before everything was ripped apart i removed the radiator cap and let the car warm up to check for bubbles. There were none...
Help me out guys i'm running out of ideas here. The car NEVER had cooling problems this just started happening yesterday. Oil and coolant look fine.

make sure ur fan is coming on. might have to have it on all the time, also may have air in the system. did u bleed it well with the 12mm bleeder valve?

The fan works i know that however whenever i let it sit and idle for a heat cycle the fan never turns on...and i put a mugen fan switch in it before i installed the turbo setup.
When i put everything back together after i installed my turbo setup the system was bled both by me and by my tuner before the car was put on the dyno. Cooling system has not been touched sense and it just started overheating yesterday out of nowhere.

btw as previously stated this motor/turbo setup has over 3000 miles on it and nothing was touched as far as the cooling system is concerned. This just started happening out of nowhere.
sounds like a flow issue... if the top hose is hot and bottom is cold you either have a clogged radiator....(very uncommon) bad thermostat (most common) or a bad waterpump... Also make sure you bleed the system well for air! good luck let us know how u make out!

It sounds like the thermostat isn't opening.. I know you said the thermostat is opening, but its a different environment in the car. Try removing the thermostat completely and see how the car reacts. If it fixes it you can try drilling holes in the thermostat, there may be some air in there clogging it up.

problem fixed!! It was the thermostat. Lesson learned there really is no replacement for oem. I had a shitty stant thermostat in the car and your right joepsi the thermo must not have been opening in the car due to a different environment. Put in an oem honda thermostat and the car cools flawlessly. Datalogged and drove for about a half hour and the temp never got above 194 degrees
Thanks for all the help guys!!
