Default helicoil and turbo manifold?

i stripped out my wastegate threads on the turbo manifold and i wanted to know if i can use i helicoil on the manifold or will it not work because of the heat and expansion.
i tried to retap it but it was to f'd up and i dont have room to go a size bigger because the larger bolt head will hit the side of the wastegate.

any help is much appreciated i really dont want to buy a new manifold.

What kind of manifold is it? Sometimes you can put a nut behind the flange.

Try using a allen head bolt one size bigger, even standard size. They also sell those "12 pt" hex head bolts that has small heads.

Helicoil should work, I know they are used on housings when turbos get rebuilt.

whats gonna happen when it fails?...You better weld a chain to it so you dont run it over when it pops off like a cork...lol...I would pay a professional to weld, drill , and retap it....I say professional because you have to heat cast to proper temps before welding

yeah, thats why i didnt weld it like the previous post suggested, but its not cast, its tubular, and if it "fails" the other bolt wil still hold it on it will just leak, not a big deal. i was just looking for a cheap solution, besides buying a new manifold, because if i were to get another one it would be a very expensive lovefab.
