Having trouble fitting my new alternator onto the bracket! Please help!!!
i pulled out my old alternator and I can't get the new one onto the bracket, which is identical to the old one! little sh--it like this will **** anyone off...the problem looks like this...
there is a bushing in the bracket attached to the block, it may look like one piece but you have to push or hammer it back out a bit so the alt can slide in then when you tighten the bolt it pushes the metal bushing back in place. the bushing is the bottom arrow in the pic

hey i have the same car so i was wondering when you changed the alternator out did you have to take out the axles or did you manage to get it in another way? i would like to not remove the axles if it is at all possible.

you dont have to take out the axles. its just a pain in the *** to get out. i did mine from the top/side. it takes some patience and a little hard love to get it out and back in.
