Removing Air con and still driving when raining etc?
I want to strip out the air con on my 4th gen as i dont use the car everyday, and because i want a neater engine bay.
I heard from someone that u can still get warm air going to the front windshield by leaving in the thermostat in the condensor box?
Is this correct and anyone done this?

uh yes, but you will not get the nice dry air that is possible with a functioning AC system. The dry air is what really defogs the glass quickly.
I just removed all the lines in the bay and left the evaporator core under the dash alone. I can still get heat from my vents in the winter, but it sure does suck whenever it rains as you can't defog the window as well without A/C... and its hot as well whenever it decides to rain in the summer. Reason being I just purchased some JDM rain guard window visors, so I can crack my windows open and not get wet.
Yeh true about all those downsides, would be great if sh*tloads of an anti-mist product would do the job.

Was it worth the 8 pound loss in weight for all those negative results? I've considered the same, since my A/C is so, so weak, but i have leather interior and would really prefer not sweating through all my clothes while driving to work
AC removal was one of the best things i did before my swap, makes working on it so much easier, and when you pull the condensor out you can make a channel for the air to go through, instead of the chamber, and then you'll get faster airflow out of the vents i would imagine.
as far as the rain, i live in FL, and i never use the AC in my S2000 or jeep, i just leave the windows open/top down on the highway, and in town if i'm stop and go i'll roll them up most the way, since i'll get plenty of cool air with it raining anyway, and just open up the vents
but yes, if you leave your heater core and thermostat in, you'll have heat for when it gets cold and the defogger, as well as if you're overheating you have an extra heat exchanger
