how can i tell if i have a broken ring in my engine?

guys i need sum help if yall could give me a shout on this it would be muchly abblidged,i have a 94 accord that has had a rough life before i became owner,the car smokes like a train and i dunno weather its a ring or a dropped valve because there is a wrist pin knocking now help please

You should look into doing a cylinder compression test and a leak down test.

go straight to rebuild as it sounds like the car was starved for oil.......

what color is the smoke. i read somewhere that if it's white smoke its water and if it has like a bluish tint its oil. You may have a leak in a gasket or something.
