Looking for some help.
Car is a 1991 CRX Si. OBD0 B16a swap. Full race stage 1 turbo kit. Converted to OBD1 and has Hondata s300.
Heres what happened. Car started up and was driving to work. Sitting at a red light the car just stalls. Push it off to the side of the road. Car just cranks and cranks and cranks. Finally it started up, I got to work. Go to go home from work. Starts right up. As its idleing it stalls. Just cranks. Finally get it started and get home. Now it wont start. Just cranks and cranks.
Here is what I noticed. When you turn the key halfway the check engine light stays on and doesnt shut off. I am guessing it is throwing a code? Where exactly is the little plug to jump and pull the code?
Also the fuel pump does not prime when you half turn the key. I have a fuel pressure guage and it is reading 0. I have no fuel pressure. The car has a walbro 255lph fuel pump. Maybe some of the electrical for that came loose?
Thats really all the info I have now. Does it sound like it might be the fuel pump only? Main relay? ECU? Any input would be great. Thanks

same problem i had been having, most likely your fuel pump relay going bad.
its on the far left under your dashboard by the coin holder to the left of that under that.
test the relay.
hopefully its just that
seems to be a common problem

Would that throw a code? If so which one? Also where is the plug to check the code it is throwing now? Thanks

Thanks for the tip I think that is the problem. Here is an update. I saw in a bunch of posts people say to bang around under the steering column to see if its the fuel pump relay. Well I did and got it to prime and start. As soon as I shut the car off and tried again it wouldnt prime. Not sure exactly what I jiggled to get it to work but it should be the fuel pump relay. Now I have two questions:
1- Anyone have a picture of its location? What exactly does it look like? Shape? Color? Ect...
2- Where can I buy one? Does Honda still make it? What is the OEM Part number?
Thanks a bunch!

sounds like the main relay for sure. honda will rape you. try to find one from a yard or something. i dont think you can get them from autozone or anything either. search for a write up for main relay
Go through your s300 and check and see what code it's throwing. The Main relay is under your coin holder, unscrew the two bolts and it's right behind it. It should be a black box with Japanese writing, and a read top.

I have that problem with my 91 rex hf, has a gsr swap. I figured it down to my fuel pump or relay... i find when it does it turn the key on and off 3 times so it will re-prime the fuel system and turns right back on. I will be investigating this relay issue on mine as well, possible changing the fuel pmp to a higher volume.
it is called the main relay it is located right above the hood popper under the dash its a 7 wire plug and its common to replace these in the older honda's looks like this

I replaced the main relay with a brand new one from honda and it is NOT the problem. What is the next step now? I am thinking it is the fuel pump. The problem is intermittent. I got the car to start today but as soon as i shut it and went to start it again it wouldnt prime.
Does it sound like the fuel pump is crapping out? (a mechanical problem)
or
Does it sound like the fuel pump electrical is loose? (an electrical problem)

It is 100% identical to the one pictured and the one that came out of my car. I got it from the Honda dealer and it is OEM so I know it is not that. ou can hear it click on and off too.
Any other ideas?

Pull codes if you have any, repair as necessary.
If you've replaced the relay then I would test the fuel pump itself; on a turbo car with an adjustable fpr if you're running the original pump I wouldn't be suprised if it's getting flaky.

It is a Walbro 255lph HP pump. Only 1,400 miles on it.
