Default A Integra with no VIN number on the engine?

I've been looking for a Integra GSR for awhile now, recently came across one that's really clean.

The only problem i have is that the VIN number tag on the engine was removed. I ran the check on the VIN number and everything seems fine. And all the VIN numbers I found on the car does match except one that's on the passenger side fender, but if I remembered correctly, there's no VIN on that side, only the driver side right? Where are all the locations of the VIN number on the car? can somebody tell me?

The milage is low also, almost 60K, and the price of 8000 sounds too good to be true..... plus, they are willing to let it go for 7000!!! I can't really find out more info because the shop got the car from their business partner, and it seems like they don't know much about the history of the car more than I do.... lol

Any advice on this please?

Thank you!

I believe pre-96 engines didn't have VINs on the block. The passenger fender was replaced if there isn't a VIN sticker on it.

is actually a 2000, passenger fender had a different VIN sticker, so I guess passenger fender was replaced. I was told by the shop it had an minor front end damaged, and then later on, they told me they just repainted the bumper, it was just some scratches and they wanted to have it look nice selling it....

does it look like the vin was ripped off? was the engine swapped? converted to obd1? clean title? if hes not straight up with the answers i wouldnt touch it.

where'd they get the car? Carfax the VIN from the engine bay firewall cause that one cant really be changed. heres a thing about VIN decoding:

vin looks like it was just taken off, not ripped off or something brute.

the dealer don't know much with the car since they got it from their business partner, tolled the car from Chicago, IL.

what does it mean by converted to obd1?

I ran the VIN from the firewall, and it is a clean title with one owner, milage seems legit, the car goes back and forward between AZ and IL, and VIN decoding all matched up.

Advices? thanks!

I checked the block, and there was suppose to be an VIN number tag next to the block number and B18C1.

I didn't check the VIN on the transmission...

any more advice?

so I'm pretty sure by now that the car has been in an accident, they had to replaced the bumper and the passenger side fender, that's why the passenger side fender has a different VIN number tag, and the front bumper have no Acura emblem. The passenger side headlights and signals light are probably damaged too, maybe that's why they are both swapped to aftermarket headlighst and signal lights. Not really sure about the hood tho...... didn't really look at it...

What I don't get is that, why the VIN tag on the engine was removed? the valve cover is polished chrome, and the wire cover have the word GSR engraved on the lower right..... if that helps with anything at all.......

Please advice

Here's some advice: Don't mess with it if you smell something fishy. This tip helps far beyond car buying....

Isn't the vin behind the header so you can't see it anyways?

vin number on the block does not match up to the vin of the car, just so you know.
