Default wierd vtec crossover

it used to sound fine and kick in hard, but I just got it back form the shop and they redid my brake and fuel lines and now whenever it kicks in it dosn't as hard and I hear a wierd sort of grinding rattling noise coming from my gauges or something far back in the engine bay, its very odd...

Maybe the techs at the shop took your ride for a joyride and mashed on your car a little too hard and broke your "VTEC". That way you can take your car back to them and say, please fix this for me and you end up putting more money in their pockets.
