Default vtec fluid check?

i havent had my b16 in my car very long, when i first got it swapped vtec kicked hard, and the sound when it initially hit was distictive. now i dont hear it kick anymore but it feels like its still working. i changed the vtec solenoid and nothing changed. in another post i saw "vtec fluid" where is that located and how do i check it?

thanks in advance

your going to get flame raped for "vtec fluid" noob. But i wont do that, vtec uses oil pressure. The sound cant get louder or not as loud. Its either in or out. If its working that all there is to it

Vtec only kicks in when the conditions are right

Correct operating temp on engine
right temp on coolant
oil pressure is right
etc. if any one of those is missing or isnt right, vtec wont kick in

"vtec fluid" jokes aside. every time i hear someone refer to vtec "cracking" and/or "popping", i get the sudden urge to spear an infant with a javelin pole

yea seriously... it's just VTEC, it's not like you suddenly gain an extra cylinder or two. lol

i'd like to add VTEC "kicking" to your list.

This post isn't as much funny as it is disappointing. It demonstrates like someone else said here, the amount of misinformation spread through here.
