Default Strange noise stumping even honda gurus, need help!!!!

ok so i have a b20 vtec set up in my car stock bottom end and head with type r cams, when i cold start the car i hear a rattle/knocking sound that only lasts for like 3 seconds then goes away... if i turn the car off and let it sit for a minute and restart it the sound is not there.... when i rev the car to about 2k i start to hear a rattling sound which sounds like its coming from the head but i cant pin point it.... had crx bart and another more seasoned honda guru listen to the noise and both couldnt figure out wtf the noise was... almost positive the noise is coming from the head but could be wrong, also hear a whining noise coming from the oil pump region and oil pressure is very low which i can assume is leading to the problem but would like to get a few ideas before i tear the engine apart... oil level is full and i just adjusted the valves hoping that was the problem... did a compression test as well and all cylinders came out relatively even and in the correct range.... any ideas are greatly appreciated i mean hell even bart is stumped and that is messed up!!!

i have a feeling it is lack of oil to the lost motion assemblies (spl) on the cam bridge. only reason i say this is because of lack of oil pressure at first start up, and also you state that you have low oil pressure as well.

hmmm, that was my first thought because they do work off of oil pressure, and you mentioned low pressure

im just fearing that it is a rod bearing but the noise sounds so much like its in the head but its hard to pin point without tearing the motor apart.

test oil pressure.
- test how fast it takes the pump to build pressure when first started
lmas just get splashed with oil and when bad usually make a ticking sound. you can test that by revving the engine and engaging vtec. if noise goes away then voila
