Default wont redline? please help.

i just bought a 91 crx si about a week back, and it basically wont redline

all my gears just stop at about 6k and wont go any further, i know its not right.
i just put new air filter, feul filter, oil, oil filter, plugs, wires, so all of that is ruled out.

If you want your engine to last I would suggest not to redline, anymore... And your not making any power more 5.5k rpm on a stock a6 engine

im with you on making the motor last longer... but what happens to the power when you shift at 5500 instead of 6500?

First Check And See If Its The Right ECU, Look On The ECU On The White Bar-code And If Its An Si ECU Then It Will Be Coded PM6 Under The Bar-code. Then If Its An Si ECU Its Should Red-Line At 6850k Cold, 7200 Semi-Warm, 7500 All The Way Warm. So If Its Not A PM6 ECU Then Thats Your Red-Line Problem, If It Its A PM6 ECU Then Your Problem Could Be Either You Timing Is Off A Tooth Or So Or Your Temperature Sensor Is Not Working, Keep Me Updated And PM Me And Let Me Know

Check your timing and get the motor set at TDC

if it is a new rotor, I am willing to bet it fell off. Remove cap carefully because the screw is floating around in there, put some blue loctite on the threads after cleaning with brake kleen, and re-install. Should be good to go as far as not starting. Then you can go back to the redline problem.
