Default Weird Noise on Start Up

My 4th gen did this, my 5th gen does, it and my dad's 5th gen does it. I want to think I remember my CB7 doing it too, but my sister's 98 Accord (same year as my Lude) doesn't do it.
When you crank the car up, it's fine. No matter how long you let it sit and idle, as soon as the car begins to move, there's a sound coming from the driver side of the engine bay for about a second, and it sounds like a cell phone on vibrate. I never paid much attention to it till my dad was complaining, saying it seems like it's getting worse on his. It can't be the tranny cause his is auto and mine is manual, my other Lude was manual and the CB7 was auto. He thought it was the power steering, but I don't have anything from power steering on my car and it still does it so that's not it. I'm thinking it's the ABS bleeding air out of the system or something to do with the ABS because that's the only thing all 4 cars have in common.

Can someone tell me what it is and why the car is doing?

Like I said, it's only when the car initially begins to move for the first time after a start up whether it's forward or backward. Sounds like a cell phone vibration and last for about a second. You could also describe it as the sound the machine makes at Wal-Mart and the pharmacy when you check your blood pressure and it's building air, but again, it only lasts for a second. That's the best I know how to describe it. Thanks.

On 4 cars?
Honda did the t-belt change on my car, so it's not likely at all for it to be that. Plus it wouldn't do it only when pulling off after start up. It can sit for 15 minutes and get at operating temp, you can rev it up, but it still won't do it till the car moves.

lol mine does the exact same thing....and it only happens when you pull away for the first time. i've never really thought much of it.

edit: and now that i think about it....if i roll backwards out my driveway with the car in neutral and then put it in gear to take off forwards, the sounds only happens when im taking off in gear, not when im just rolling back.

Yep, I know exactly what you are talking about. I thought it might be the ATTS doing a self-check, but since you are saying it does it on other models as well, my bet would be on the ABS. The ABS pump is on the driver's side, so that would make sense. You could probably pull the ABS fuse or unplug the relay for the pump and see if it still does it...

Yeah, it's the ABS doing some calibrations. Nothing to worry about.
