just wandering.. dont know if its safe or not... i know my motor makes more power with my bpi stack and no filter, but im just worried about sucking up a rock or some sand into my motor... btw its a 97 spec jdm itr, intake, ported itr header by me just to knock off the internal welds, no cat 2.5 exhaust crome tuned by me
You really must like the idea of sandblasting the internals of your engine. There's a reason cars have air filters. No, its not a good idea, more power or not.

okay no problem thanks, because i see alot of cars with them on and i didnt know if they daily drive like that or not
Most people don't daily cars with a vstack.
Since pebbles inside your cylinders is kinda bad and what not.

Depending upon the design of your velocity stack, you may be able to fine a large inlet diameter filter to fit it.
^^ definately. K&N make as a huge range of large ID filter units, and they're not expensive at all, that kind of motor insurance outweighs any power benefit

It's actually the microscopic particles that you don't see that you need to worry about. They get in between your piston rings and cylinder walls. Then you get low, uneven compression and lots of blowby and you wonder why.
