Hard wiring reverse lights in EG.
My reverse lights do not come on when in reverse. I am going to hard wire the reverse lights. I want to make sure i am doing it right. There should be a plug on top of the tranny... one wire? connect that wire to a positive on the reverse bulbs. I only need to connect to one of the two sockets and they both should work? Does this sound correct?
at the bottom of the trans, there is a 2 pin switch. key on one is hot, the other goes to the reverse light circuit.
with that said, key on, jumping that connector (as long as the switch is the problem) will light the reverse lights.

Remove the reverse selector switch. Push on the "button" on the bottom. If the button is stuck or hard the move, it's time for another one. I had to replace one that was permently lodge in the up position, thus I was always in reverse! LOL.
