i recently just finish wiring all necessary sensors, and found out my knock sensor is broken, so i o tried to fire up the car but it won't fire up. i was wondering if the knock sensor prevents the car from turning on or could it be the ecm(p5m) that has a immobilizer...hope not its a 2001 h22a4

 

No, the knock sensor isn't required to start it, it'll just throw a CEL.

The immobilizer can however.

 

i know its an old thred. but engine will cranck but will not start if the knock sensor is not hooked up ..... trust me

I don't know who you are other than you've replied to literally every thread on the front page with "I believe" or "I think" etc so I don't trust you.

I've done the swap, I've had a bad knock sensor, I've left it out and driven it around.

You get a CEL light for a bad knock sensor (23 if I recall) it will NOT prevent the car from starting.
