Default 97 USDM ITR in a 97 DX Hatch troubleshooting

helping a friend put a 97 USDM ITR in a 97 DX Hatch. everything installed and wired up. engine starts fine, but idles like crap. only code from the 97 ITR ecu is for the secondary O2 sensor (using a test pipe). engine sounds like its misfiring, runs very rich, and will not rev past 3k rpm. all sensors in correct places and no vacuum leaks. the previous motor in there was a 99 LS motor. the civic harness from the LS motor was put on the ITR motor. would this have anything to do with why its not running correct? thanks in advance!

Check the map and tps and make sure they are not switched.

It sounds like the IACV wasn't wired properly. Also, check your cam timing and set your idle.

The engine shouldn't run the same if they were switched(should run super rich and stumble after 3000. I bet your problem lies there. Same exact symtoms as mine had, but mine was so rich gas was comming out the exhaust. Switched the two and it ran fine. Also the wire for the iacv should be in pin a12 instead of a14(might be the other way around). Should already be like this if you had the ls motor though. If you have a dx with a teg motor it should be throwing code "91"
