Default b16a2 into 94 civic dx

hi all,

i have a 1994 civic dx hatchback, broke down over the weekend and found out that i need a new distributor and head gasket, so therefore id rather use that money towards a new engine, as i have wanted to upgrade to a bigger engine at some point.

i have been offered a b16a2 engine and was wondering how easy this is to fit into my car? and what parts do i need for the full conversion? gearbox etc?

any help would be very much appreciated.thanks

Its actually pretty easy to fit a B16 in 5th gen civic, some japanese and european models came B16s right from the factory. what you'll need:
- Engine
- Transmission
- ECU (P30)
- Shift Linkage
- mounts
- Some wiring mods (must add vtec and knock sensor wiring)
- Axles

I'm sure theres something i missed, but thats at least the vast majority of whats needed, search around, this is a very common swap and is well documented.

Edit, forgot to add, you will need to repin the distributor plug, get a jumper harness or get an OBD1 distributor.

if its a complete swap with engine harness then all u would need is the t bracket from the integra. if u want to be safe then u can also grab the driver side mount from the block of a b18 also since it has 3 holes instead of 2.
would need a p30 if u want knock sensor or p28 if u dont feel like running knock sensor. you would only need to convert your distributor wiring if u plan on running an obd 1 engine harness because they only run 1 big plug instead of 2. would need to pin out the vtec and knock sensor on ur tower harness by the battery.

quick break down

complete swap + engine harness
b series axles
p30/p28 depending if u want to run knock sensor or not
integra t bracket
integra driver side block mount if u want that extra slot for a screw
wiring the vtec/knock sensor
integra shift linkage if u run into a problem with the a2 shift linkage becuz the b16 has a different curve (only necessary if u're having problems with ur current)
