Default 96 Civic EX power window problem???

First of all I want to say hello and thanks to everybody for putting this awesome site together! I've been having a problem with the power windows on my 96 2dr EX. Both driver and passenger side began to act funny a while ago so I had both motors checked and both switches. Wasted a good bit of money as well.

Finally had a guy tell me that a plug inside the kick panel that goes into the door harness had some broken wires and this was the problem. I've also had trouble finding this piece. Anybody ever had this same issue? Just want to make sure I'm fixing the right thing before I spend more money and time. I'm also looking for this piece as well if any of you have one. Thanks, WM

I am having some issues too. What are your symptoms? Here is a link to my post, there was a good reply with some links to service manuals. I still haven't had time to troubleshoot mine further yet, but maybe we can get our windows rollin again

Thanks for the link Craig. Well there are no symptoms now. Both windows are stuck up and won't come down. Been this way for a few months because I havn't had the time to fix them. This summer heat is about to kill me so I'm really trying to fix them now!!

on our cars, the window channel rubber gets old and doesnt allow free movement of the windows.
I just replaced the driver's side channel and the window goes up and down like a champ. Im waiting from an eBay sale for the passenger side channel.
I noticed the problem when my driver's side window kept popping off the track inside the door when rolling the window down. The passenger side just goes really slow. I tried lubes and sprays at first, but that is only a temporary fix(works for about a day or 2).
when and if you buy and install new channel runs for your car, buy some silicone spray and put some on inside the NEW cannels.... this will help keep good for years to come!

tho only part # I have is: 72235-S03-G01
for the passenger side channel run for 1996-2000 hatchback/coupe.
...... but if you go to a Honda dealership website and go to the online parts dept., all you have to type into the search is "channel run" and they will pop up.

Thanks baby, I thought that was to problem at first until the guy that checked it out tell me that it was that plug and he could see where the wires were broken from opening and closing the door over time.

On a side note, I would like to post in the wanted classified section but am unable to. I've been a member for over a year and posted a few times as well. Why am I still unable to post in that section??
