Use a D15B7 ('92-'95 DX/LX) distributor. Use the stock '92-'95 injectors. Swap the guts of the stock alternator into the one you get with the D16Y8, so it has the plug of the '92-'95 inside the Y8 alternator. Other than that, be more specific of what you're having problems with.

i'm having trouble with a similar swap i put a y8 in a 95 dx using stock dx harness, dizzy, alternator, and injectors. everything is wired up and the enigne started for me once but ran real rough. I changed the firing order and now it wont start up again, just turns over till battery dies. I check for fuel (all good there), checked grounds (all good), and nothing has been touched timing wise so that should be good. also i am using the stock p06 ecu i know vtec wont run but i wondered if it would make the car not start?

also i see a post above about using y8 alternator with d15 guts. the y8 didnt come with an alternator and i used the one from the d15

if its going into an EG u should run the the obd1 wire harness that way almost everything should just plug right up. the only thing that will be kind of off is the dizzy. the "ghetto" way is to run the obd1 b/c the obd2 has only 1 plug. but u can re-pin the plugs on the obd2 dizzy to fit, u just need the wire diagram. u said u checked your grounds but did you check for spark? gas, spark, and oil and the car should start. it should run with the p06 but check engine light will come on b/c of vtec.

oh and check to make sure u got all the clips hooked up right. there's a couple of them that are the same but if u got them backwards the car won't run. (MAP)

alright cool thanks. i am using the b15b2 harness and dizzy. someone did mention that maybe the igniter is bad. i'm gonna try a diferent dizzy and see what that does for me. i just put the engine in and filled up oil, tranny fluid, and coolant. gas is making it to the rail and injectors have been tested if i havnt mentioned that.

yeah the igniter could be bad. be sure to check for spark. if it starts but its rough and just dies out check the MAP sensor it could be bad too.
