Default My Hydro D Trans Conversion

Greetings, I compiled a bunch of photo's of my conversion to a hydraulic trans in my CRX. So far I am extremely happy with the conversion and love the feel and response of a true hydraulic conversion and not having to worry about crappy aluminum shift forks, clutch calbes ect.

Started out with a Tilton clutch pedal assembly, I choose this setup since the master cylinder points towards the driver so it is allot easier to fit underneath the dash. It is through bolted into the cowl with grade 8 hardware.

I then attached the Tilton master cylinder to the stock slave cyl with a Earls braided clutch line kit. The ease of the braided line made it gravy connecting the two.

I then purchased a set of Innovative Mounts from Go-Autoworks.com, they were able to get just the mount kit with the 95a inserts shipped to me very fast. The motor mounts bolted up perfectly, the new rear trans bracket fit perfect and allows for the motor to stay hung when doing a trans removal.

Everything came together without a issue and was surprisingly easy to do the conversion.

All in I would recommend the Innovative conversion mounts to anyone, it was great having everything bolt up like a stock motor even with extremely solid style mounts. No pry barring or twisting to get anything to line up. I run a stage 3 pressure plate and the pedal feels slightly stiffer than stock but not nearly as hard as the pressure plate in a oem hydraulic setup.

I am going try and take some more detailed pics tomorrow, feel to ask questions.

Thanks

so that clutch pedal is way further than the stock location. also can you give me a part number. i'm either going to fab up a hydro clutch conversion pedal assem in my ride, using the stock pedals, or go your route with the new pedal

thats one of the nicer all motor d setups i have seen. . What ignition setup is that? and how are the brakes boosted, if at all?

Don't see many Bisi headers in this particular portion of honda-tech

I keep my cards close

DemonKid, the pedal is some what closer than the OEM and slightly to left which is more comfortable with the pedals farther apart and the throw allows the for full clutch release without pushing my foot so far. Its very comfortable to drive doesn't give you the classic leg ache from a heavy pressure plate.

The ignition is standalone ecu, Electromotive Tec 2 runs off of a crank trigger, no dizzy, resistor boxes, check engine lights, and ecu headaches. The brakes are a Kens Kustom Chassis setup using a wilwood master cylinder. The car stops extremely well for no booster.

Some pics of the car.

Start up and idle with a Bisi Level 3 camshaft and 14.7:1 compression

yeah, I saw his car in the pits and make some passes at NOPI budds creek. looks sweet as hell and sounded so mean for a single cam. He is my inspiration with my a6 build, thats for sure. I am not sure and the tuna himself could tell you, but I think it was a 13.4 or .6 he was running that day. I would have to break out my video camera to know for sure, but either way he is damn impressive.
