Default Grinding noise and its not the rotors plse help

94 civic coupe that im about to get repainted and wanted to get all the work that needed to be done before it goes in at the end of the week. I replaced the rotors and pads because it sounded like it was grinding, well now it still is. I was told that my hub was out because the tire has a little bit of movement.

I wasnt sure if that grinding noise could actually be the hub and want to make sure before i replace the whole thing.

Anything would be helpful at the point. Oh god please help...

Put the car up on jack stands and start the car put it in gear then go out and stand by the wheel and see if you can hear anything.

yeah if your wheels have movement they could just be loose..

if it only does it every now and then it could even be your power steering

So it turns out it was the clips that hold the brake pads on, so now that those are totally destroyed i replaced them but they are still doing it...not as bad but still doing it. i hoping thats all it was...

Moral of this story if you want something to be done you have to do it your damn self.

My 2000 EX has a grinding noise when moving and it's the cheap asz WalmartGoodyear tires on it. The noise almost sounds like the pads are metal to metal or a bad wheel bearing, but I know the hubs and brakes are fine.

Check the dust plates behind the rotors, if they get bent they rub ob the rotors and make a gawd awfull noise.

if it were the bearings, you would feel vibration while in motion and hear it too...

did you put the pads on wtih the backing plate backwards? lol somebody did that and brought it to our shop and was wondering why it was grinding! WTF!? lol

but yea, check if the backing plate shims aren't off place and rubbing on the hub and ish...basically take it apart, double check, look for noise when you spin the wheel, and look for shiny spots on the metal pieces, as they indicate metal to metal rubbing against each other

I know the noise is the tires in my case. I was wanting the OP to check his tires because it most likely is his noise since he pretty much has exhausted all over avenues.
