I bought a 99 EK hatch with only 70K and clean title. So far I have added a Cold Air, AC, PS, PW and complete GSR brake conversion. this starting happening a couple of months ago when I started to hear some grinding noises comming out of my engine bay. Had a friend look at it and said it was my throw out bearing. So I decided to change out my clutch and flywheel. I did everything and used OEM honda tranny fluid. Its still making the same grinding noise. Got another opinion from AMMCO and they said it was some of the syncros that are going out. Wanted 1300 at the minium to fix, I know its not worth that much to fix and just got a Y8 tranny. I dont know the difference between the DX and EX but a friend said that the throws are shorter. Dont really matter. what I want to know is if I change it out this time and it does the same thing what else could it be? The car still rides and goes into all gear but when in 3rd it seems like the shifter is shaking alot (only in third) seems like it wants to come down to nutural. Also sometimes just riding the noise will go away and come back. got me kinda worried. Again I already have a new tranny but just wanted some opinions. Thanks ahead of time!
