DTCode 8 is a problem with the TDC sensor in your distributor. The only way to test this sensor is with a multimeter. Or you could swap out your distributor with a known good one and see if the code goes away.
Here is the tech proceedure for testing the TDC sensor.
• Make sure your ignition is off.
• Disconnect the 8 pin connector from the distributor.
• measure the resistance between terminals 3(ORN/BLU) & 7 (WHT/BLU)
Connector layout looking in at pins

| 1 2 3 4 |
| 5 6 7 8 |
Is there 350-700Ω?
• No - Replace the distributor
• Yes -
Check for continuity to body ground on both the terminals
Is there continuity?
• Yes - Replace the Distributor
• No -
Reconnect the connector and measure the resistance between ECU pins B13 & B14.
Is there 350 - 700Ω?
• No - Repair open (break) in associated sensor wire
• Yes -
Check for continuity to body ground on B13
Is there continuity?
• Yes Repair short to body ground in the associated wire
• No - Substitute a known good ECU and recheck. If CEL goes away replace the original ECU.
This is from the Accord shop manual. If I left anythign out please fill in the blanks.
OP. If you plan on keeping your car for a while I would pick one up. They are a handy tool to have around.
