Default Cel code 8

I've picked up a 93 accord as a daily driver for cheap and it runs great. It throwing code 8 which is a bad crank/tdc sensor. It's hard to start up and takes a few cranks to turn over. I believe it's the sensor, if I'm correct the sensor is located in the distributor. Can it be replaced or am I better replacing the whole distributor? I want to test it and will my gsr distributor work as a test cause my friend did get a civic ex distributor to work in his lx accord which is the same model as mines.
