hey gotta 93 del sol si and the car cranks up and runs perfectly most of the time but since it has gotten hot the fuel pump doesn't seem like it wants to kick on every time. but... if it kicks on the first time i turn the key it works every time the rest of the day... if it doesnt' then i have to leave the key in the on position for a while then it eventually kicks on??? i dunno but... i took out the main relay and swapped it with my 93 dx hatchback (D15) and the main relay from the del sol worked perfectly in it i put it back and nothing?? i dunno what's up with it... and most of the time when a main relay goes out you can hit it and it will kick on but that's not the case here i hit the relay the pump move the wires around everything... it simply just kicks on when its ready and i dont' wanna spend 50-100 bucks on a new relay if mine is fine? anybody got an idea?
you might have a loose wiring connection somewhere and it is only priming when the connection is made. Get a wiring diagram and trace all the fuel pump wires to make sure you are not loose anywhere or you have no breaks in the wires that is where i would start

i have tried moving wigglying hitting and everything else i could think of to get this connection but nothing it simply does it when it wants i mean its not like the relay has to warm up or anything before it kicks on so i don't know why time is the only that gets this thing pumpin again

ok this thing is really making me mad now... it doesn't make any sense why it just kicks on randomly... it like it warms up or something... some times five mins some times ten minutes its just random and has nothing to do with the main relay... can someone please help me?
i have the same problem with my 99 civic si, thought it was the main fuel relay got a new one and it didnt work. hooked the old one back up tapped it a couple times and the fuel pump kicked on drove it 5 min up the street when i got back in to drive home nothing. tapped it again could not get it to start.. seems like its only getting worse, could it be a bad fuel pump?..

i drive a 94 honda civic ex. when i first bought my car i had the same problem as you. every morning i had to wait about 5 mins untill i can start my car. i didnt know the problem. frens told me a lot of things to fix dat problem but all failed.i tought my engine was to old already.lol but wen i swap a new engine the problem still stayed in my car.so i was **** off already.but i tought to myself it must be with the wires or my stock computer. after i change my computer to a chip p28 my problem was gone.i dont know if this will help u but it seems like we had the same problem.it will cost u for the comp. but it doesnt hurt to try it.
