I thought 'white' toothpaste (paste, not gel) and soft bristled brush (tooth brust) was ftw. Sandpaper would be possible, but quite harsh unless v. high grit.
i put my jdm lights back on for now but here is what the hazy lights look like...
both..

driver side...

passenger side...

all fogs..

im hoping to get them clear enough to replace the clear ones pictured on my car. thanks

it looks like all of your fogs have some very severe pitting. The only way to remove a majority of the pitting would be wetsanding with 800 grit then work your way up to 2000 grit. After that, high speed buff the lenses using cutting then polishing compound. Rotary buffer or porter cable recommended.
Realistically speaking though, I would personally just say ditch those lenses. Cutting then polishing down pitting that severe would definitely thin and weaken the glass.

I dont think you can sand if they are actual glass. I have not tried it but it doesnt seem like a good idea, you can however spray a couple coats of clear coat overtop and it will bring the clarity back a bit
i never thought about just spraying clear coat on it. they do look almost like new when they are wet. so maybe it will work. thanks

the clear coant method wont work very wel nor last very long. the urathane chemical composistion wont stick well to it because there is nothing there for it to bite into. clear coat work for preped surfaces like paint and primer. i guarentee that even if it does bring back som shine itll fail in a few month and the reason i know this is because i paint cars for a living
