keys and locks
i just got a hatch and it only came with an ignition key it doesnt work on the doors or the hatch locks. is there any way to make the one key work on all the other locks? i dont wana have to buy the whole set its expensive.
do this instead, get theses:
4door civic exterior rear door handles of the same year
door actuators
car alarm
install the car alarm to the actuators so that it unlocks the doors and exterior 4door handles have no key holes.
even better maybe haha

unless for some reason your battery dies while your doors are locked.

have the dealer cut a brand new key for you, i think they use the vin # or something. you may need some proof of ownership also.
I did this cause my key was just worn out and it didnt work on the hatch, I think it was like 10 bucks.

well you would be fine IF you had a key that opened the hatch, thats how mine is.

yes they do, i just got one made a couple of weeks ago, all you need is a VIN, i believe it was $5 plus tax

This isnt going to work for him because his ignition has been replaced. Thats why the key doesnt work in the doors, because its not cut to the doors. He'd still end up with 2 keys.
Only way to get back to 1 key is to buy the entire lock set again with a new key.

according to numbnutz BILLETGRIP he doesnt realize there is a key hole in the back of your hatch. look back there, you might find one.

ooooohhhhh now i get it.....next time ill remember to put my mind reading hat on before i read your posts.
anyway to the OP the only solution i know of would be to get very lucky at a
junkyard and find a hatch with all the locks and a key. the actuator thing could
work too but you would still have to have a fob and a key which to me would be the same as 2 keys
