Default oil catch can issues

Hey guys I just got finished installing my oil catch can on my car and I did it the right way of course. (disconnect the return line in the intake manifold and the PCV valve and run a new vacuum line from the PCV valve to the catch can, and then run another new line from the catch can back to the intake manifold.)

Only problem is as soon as I run the line from the catch can back to the intake manifold my car idles above 1000 RPM and sometimes It jumps from 800 RPM to 1500 RPM. But as soon as I plug the intake manifold the idle goes back to 800 RPM. I listed some pictures below to give you an idea. I assume It's a vacuum leak, but all my hoses are new and bolted down tight.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

1) running from PCV valve to catch can

2) running new hose from catch can to intake manifold

3) now my car is idling like It's cold, but look at temperature gauge.

4) After capping the intake manifold (look closely It's circled in BLUE)

5) .. It's idling normal.

your hose appears to be too large for the im nipple, try getting a smaller hose so it will seal better

The system appears to not be sealed as it runs like it has a vac leak when you plug it in. Instead of running the other end of the can to the IM run it to the intake arm.

where is the pcv valve? it sounds like there is either a leak or the valve is not inline.

are you sure? if it was the right way would you be having this problem? if your way is the right way is every other catchcan/pcvcan setup wrong?

ok allow me to educate you a bit becuase your setup is a bit worthless imho:

-your system has no improvement over the stock system, you simply added a can, and the can is not needed as you have a pcv valve which will stop oil from getting in your can, now if your pcv valve is bad then sure you might catch some oil in that can. so as a catch can this mod is a failure.

-now if your trying to relieve positive crank case pressure you are also failling and have no improvement over the stock setup as there is no filter on your can, there is nowhere for the excess pressure to go except back into the intake manifold.

-if this is a show peice you have failed, get some AN fittings next time

now I'm not typing all this to be a dick, I'm seriously just trying to help you and i hope your not taking any of this personally.

start by reading the long *** catchcan pcv thread, there is a lot of very good info in it, it may be overwhelming at first but its a good read.

1) road racing
2) http://www.c-speedracing.com/h...n.php
3) my catch can is filled with steel wool
4) I'm not listing my setup because I have local people on this site that I don't want to give out my information on my motor, but I'm running the catch can for a certain reason.

so then are you just trying to seperate the moisture in the blowby and trap it in the can?

You seriously doubted HT and went to TEAM INTEGRA to ask about this??

I'm schumacher on TI btw.

Anywho, your answers are in this thread like I said on TI. Its a leak somewhere, a bad connection or a bad hose.
