Default what cams to run my setup?

hey guys, heres a list of what i have and wondering what cams to put in

b16 head
port/polish
full supertech valvetrain(flat face valves)
port matched skunk2 intake manifold

b18c1 bottom
wiseco 12:1 pistons 81mm

running on 93 octane

wondering what cams would be good for my setup, figure the flat face would bump me up to 12.5:1 and if i should run skunk2 pro 2,thanks

Daily driving and Pro 2's? You might already know this but just in case, your idle will be compromised..

no it won't, not if it's properly tuned and dialed in (degreed in with pro 2's). Pro 1's would be a better choice in my opinion because pro 2's tend to like a larger bore.

Running 12.5CR with 93 octane is not a good idea. This leaves no room for tuning error, if any room at all.

Yeap, what about those days when your good old 93 ain't exactly 93. People don't seem to know that octane can vary by as much as 4 points and still be legally sold at the name rating.

Plus, I don't know why people think they need the high compression in a street car.

My bad, Last time I checked (a while ago) people seemed to be having trouble with them at idle. I did some research and apparently people are getting them to idle fine.

i wouldnt say its too high, but the window for error is very very small when it comes down to tuning. I would advise street and dyno tuning as the part throttle ignition under load is where the engine is most likely to detonate and is where it will need the most work to be streetable.

Pro1 would be a great cam imo

You could also look into RM cams.

If would run the S2 stuff first and then if you want to try something else then RM is a good choice after getting some more experience with cams and know what to expect from cams.

I couldn't agree more. A few days ago I filled up my stock daily driver civic dx and it pinged all the time at any load. I had to keep topping it off at another station until it slowly went away

And the pumps that only have one hose, I wonder how much 87 comes out before you get your 93

Wouldn't larger cams reduce dynamic compression thereby 'allowing' a higher compression with pump gas?
