I have a 95 Accord EX with 4wheel disc and ABS, is it possible to change it over to non abs, by using a proportioning valve from a non abs Accord and a non abs master cylinder? Dont want to spend 600-700 on a new ABS unit. Only problem i see running into is the fact that the LX and DX models dont have rear disc, and mine does. Just want to make sure the valve will do the job with out worrying about it failing and losing my brakes on the road. Any help or suggestions would help.

 

What's wrong with your ABS. Can you elaborate. Have you tried looking at this thread

its possible, you need all the NON ABS hardlines to make it work though..

 

I was gonna get the Prop. Valve and master cylinder from a 94-97 non abs accord and than run all new hard lines front to back and sides. I just want to make sure the valve will be strong enough to wrk the rear calipers since non abs accords run drum brakes in the rear. I have tried everything to fix the abs but cant figure out the problem.

do not use the Prop. form a non abs accord as those are drum/disc I did a rear disc swap and brakes felt like crap!! and I ended up installing ABS , as far as I know the ABS unit doesn't cause the piston to blow out! ...are you using OEM replacement or aftermarket? or rebuilt.. if not try a OEM one from a U-pull it ..

 

The replacement ABS unit i got was from the same year out of a junkyard. UNless there is a special way to bleed the ABS unit, i have did everything possible to it to fix the problem. If i shouldnt use the prop valve from a drum setup which valve can i get away with using?

 

I did a non-ABS conversion on my 95 Prelude Si (ABS) and I used a Prelude S (no ABS) prop valve and it worked great. It's actually the accepted way to do an ABS removal on a Prelude, and I don't see any reason it wouldn't work on your 95 Accord. You should be able to find a Prelude S prop valve rather cheap...

There's also many adjustable prop valves on the market if you want to go that route.
