Hey Guys, I just got my H22 head rebuilt (Skunk 2 valve train, skunk 2 stage 2 pro camshafts). All rebulit was done by a shop. But I put the motor back in. Anyways Code 9 go's off like 30-120 sec's after motor runs. I changed cap and roter and problem didnt go away. So then i changed the distributor And that didnt change anything. Spark plugs and wired are like 3000 miles old. Any input guys? Car is running on Hondata S300, I cant get it tuned because Any tune shop I call says they wont tune it with check engein light on. (closest tune shop is two hours aways) So i Tuned the car myself a little but nutting major. So any help will be greatly aprechiated.
ps, sorry for bad grammer english is my second language

allright ill go cheak my compression right now. but i dont have a compression leak tester.
check the sensor on the crank. might be a slight leak in the crank seal which will coat that sensor and make it throw the code.

cam timing.
If the timing is off, it will throw a CYP (code 9) check engine light. This is only if you are using an OBDII distributor.
If changing the distributor did not fix it, then that would be my guess.

H22A4 crank position sensors are split between the crank snout (CKP, TDC), and the distributor (CYP). This is unlike most setups anywhere else where they will be all together in the distributor.
Changing exhaust cam timing creates a mismatch between them.

Well there is a chance my timing is off slighly, is there a way i can fix this with Hondata or what options do I have, redoing my timing? I had a very hard time trying to put timing belt on 100% right, So i Had my brother do it and he has done a few H22 timing belts before, I do have ajustable cam gears. Car drives good but when switching over into Vtec there is like a slight pause/lagg. thanx for all the input guys.

No its slightly like .5 moved to the right (cam) cam gear is moved to left. my brother said that car would bearly run at 0 but that was with stock ecu, mabe i should put it to 0 and try with hondata s300?
same problem in gsr motor running hondata s300!!!
haynes manul said that something in the distibutor is bad!!
need to try my other distributor!! if not have to do the timing over!!
