Hey, I have a Greddy 15g turbo kit on a d16z6 and I can't get more than 8 psi. I thought it was the boost controller but I unhooked it and even with no vacuum line to the wastegate, still stopped at 8 psi. It doesn't seem like a boost leak because it builds 8 psi smoothly and holds perfectly at 8. BTW, it's an internal gate.

Any ideas??

 

internal gate sometime get cracked or stuck open a tad.. i would check it.

 

i checked the gate, it opens and closes just fine. I thought maybe the actuator rod was bent a lil but nope, everything looks to be OK. Also, i checked for cracks throughout the manifold and the whackass greddy downpipe flange but there was nothing visable.

 

anyone have other ideas?

 

So when you boost, its going to 8psi and staying there?? Or is it going higher, but falling off to 8psi??

 

its going to 8 and staying, no matter what i do i cant get it to go any higher

 

try removing your airfilter if you have one.

 

had this happen to me on the dyno yesterday........blow off valve was leaking.
