hey guys are any of your cold air intakes this way..
ok well i put in a AEM cold air intake, and i was wondering did any of you guys cut the fender well to fit the tube in? heres a picture...
yea i have one but i did not cut the car i just bent the pipe an then bent it back on the bottom u do not losse any dim. its all pref.

i disagree. i hyrdolocked my f22 with aem dryflow filter with fender wells. if you're going to have a cai, i highly recommend the bypass. they work. and it's worth it. i just cut my cold air to short ram when i swapped my h22 in when i hydroed the f22 cause the little gain you get for a cold air is not worth a freaking motor imho. so what i'm saying is - cai = bypass or go short.

it was probably over a foot deep. it was really dark out but it was on a main road and i was trying to make it home but i came to a bottom of a hill where it levels out for a intersection and that was all she wrote.
instead of the bypass valve, u can just get a 2piece CAI, rainy months = connect to to the top portion and u have a SRI.. sunny weather comes along = re-attach and go.
I noticed a noise in the engine bay shortly after my aem cai install, turned out to be the tubing tapping the edge of the hole. So i angle grinded a larger hole, carefully, gave it a undercoat of killrust and then a touch up with some red spray. I also put a piece of rubber under the hole and around the tubing to isolate the fender area from the engine bay a bit more. No real point adding the rubber but i am a bit fussy and like tinkering on my prelude. I nearly got hydrolocked in about 3/4 of a foot of water, the engine started to stall just as it got air back, bloody lucky, i will never do that again. So now i have two rules for myself when driving the Lude 1) no dirt roads, 2) no transversing water. Dagle love your setup idea, i never thought of that, but i will just stay out of the water. I rarely get any flooding where i live otherwise i would definately go sri or bypass valve.
