my motor sucks!!!!! oil still flickering and no vtec!!!
problem #1
i boughta 94 gsr block with ctr pistons from a fellow hyrbid member... he said had 2000 miles on it after the build up, and it was broken in properly..my oil lights comes on flickering and goes away it does this at idle and when i take my foot off the gas.. i did a compression check 225 all cylinders, change the oil pressure sensor, oil pump, and still the same!!!! damn oil light still comes on wtf
Problem #2
the head i had a 3 angle valve job done on it and it was sitting a whille before work was done on it but it was bare i had all the internals in zip bag... could i have put something back together wrong to casue my vtec not to work? i'm runing a stock p72 and v-afc... i swapped out solenoids from a 00' si same results, but do to the v-afc vtec would still engage right even if the ecu was seeing low pressure??? i'm not gettting any codeds no nothing.....
I just want to enjoy it!!!!!

#2 is 90% chance related to #1
take your oilpan off and inspect the pickup. look for clogs on the screen or anything. also make sure your oilpan isnt dented.

and get a mechanical oil press gauge; install it where the dummy light sensor is (next to the filter). If you don't want to permanently install the gauge, just run it up and around the hood and tape it to the windshield. carefully drive the car around and watch the gauge....
should have about 15 psi press when idling hot; should have over 60 psi when revving above 3000 rpm hot.
you can pick up a really cheap mechanical Sunpro gauge at PepBoys ($30 or so).
it is critical to have good oil pressure or soon you will have no motor
good luck
