Intake/Exhaust Valve Adjustment--Advice Needed--
My car is a '93 with 300K miles. I don't think the valves have ever been adjusted and hope that doing so will add some pep back to the motor.
I have the Chilton manual, but have been burned before by its lack of clarity and specifics. So, before I start the job I thought it wise to get some advice from people who have done the job before.

Have you done a compression test? You can get a compression tester from a place like Harbour Freight for under $20. This will tell you the condition of the motor. Do you hear the valves tapping like a sewing machine? The more the valves need adjusting, the more they tap.
I have a Haynes manual, and I prefer it to the Chilton.
Do a search on here for valve adjustment and do a lot of reading.
