Default why overheating....not head gastket????

hey guys, ill try to make this quick. my buddy has a 94 civic with the d16a6 engine, boosted with the greddy kit for that engine/car, contorlled by the emagange (blue) and has a issue with overheating. coolant is still green so ive eliminated the headgasket. the car has a front mount on it but not huge, i can still see the radiator plenty fine, and the car ONLY overheats on the highway, not in town, not in idle, not under boost, ONLY highway cruising. it does help to turn the heat on in the car then the temp drops. whats the issue.....new radiator????

thanks!!!!

Well I was thinking if it was a half style rad maybe your air was actually moving around your rad in which case you would need a block off plate to re-direct your air as I need. Are you sure his Fmic isn't blocking the rad, at all ? .

yes it its blocking it, about half of it. i think i know what your saying: at slow speeds the air is directed through the rad, but at highway speed the air pressure is too high, and it doesnt go through, but instead around.....right???

my rad is fully blocked by intercooler and no prob. its prob something else. timing too advanced or air in system, set the fan to come on all the time and make sure its in right direction too.

Yes and somewere on here theres pics of a block off plate that someone made to re-direct the air. Something blocking the rad is often the cause for over heating but not always the case... I would check otherthings to. Set your fan to run all the time put it on a switch if need be thats will only help you out.

do you have any idea how much crap builds up in a radiator after 14 years? my moms 100% stock 96 civic started overheating, i changed the thermostat and did a tune up, fan was good topped off rad. still overheated i changed the rad and problem fixed, i cut open the old rad, GOD DAMN! all kinds of sludge in there...
