jdm cluster
will it plug in with a usdm car no problems? and hardwiring required?
will it replace an automatic cluster as well?
and will i have to do anything to adjust the rpm gauge and speedo for the kmh and larger rpm scale?
and am i paying too much? ($215 shipped)
thanks in advance

my cousin just finished installing his jdm cluster in an automatic 98 prelude. everything plugged in fine with no wiring issues. the only problem now is that he has some sort of problem removing the key. im guessing its because of one of the plugs that is not used on the manual clusters is used on the automatics that show the P,R,N,D. he is still able to get the key out some how but it not that bad. but to answer your question yes it will fit you just have to trick the ecu that the car is always in park to take your key out.
something like that. he is still able to get his key out but i think he has to turn the car off and turn it back on or something like that. if you know how to make your ecu think that is in park all the time then i am pretty sure you can make the key come out. i will try to find more info from my cousin. i think the wires for the park trick are under the center console. not sure how to do it but i think you just loop one of the wires. please dont attempt to try what im telling you cause im not 100% sure.
i wont, im sure ill figure it out, and if not ill put back in the auto cluster untill someone who actually knows what their doing can take a whack at it lol
me doing electrical, is similar to ray charles doing a jigsaw puzzle, it will never come out right lol

right, but what im saying is that its a manual cluster im looking at, my car being an automatic has the rpms to a different scale, im just trying to see if i plug it in if its going to show me hitting vtec at 3000rpm or if the car/cluster will know to turn the needle all the way to 5200rpm, where its supposed to be

ok my cousin told me his problem but i dont know how to fix it. my cousins car is an automatic and he swapped out the cluster for a manual one. everything works fine. the needle for the rpm goes all the way to 8 and a half. like i posted before there is only problem. he says that when the car is on and you shift to drive and then back to park it will not come out of park unless the car is turned off and then back on. other than that there is no problems at all and it looks a hella lot cleaner than that auto cluster imo. hope that kinda straitened things out. i say you still get that jdm cluster.
yeah thats looking to be the way to go, and now that i think about it i never really go ingto park unless im turning the car off anyways lol plus its going to be a short time for my tranny swap so ill be that much more prepared
