hey i have a 94 ex coupe and when i turn my key sometimes there is a noise like how you grind a starter by holding the key in too long but no thats not the case because its clear and in the car under the steering colum and it only happens sometimes might be wiring probs? but i never touched it before just happens recently now and i don't know only happens at random times when i just turn the key to the on position ever before i crank the car

no i said the noise is coming from under the actual steering colum i think it might be a short considering it has about 222xxx k miles on it, i just don't want it catching on fire
Well, I'm not sure the relay per se is the problem, but it could be.
Is the clicking sound definitely coming from the starter cut relay?
Is the battery a bit weak? Is the engine cranking a bit slow on start up?
Could also be the sign of a faulty starter switch at the top of the clutch pedal:
