what are some good affordable 6.5 speakers that give good bass?
i have these crappy sony 6.5 3 ways in the rear and they suck cause the rms is 30 watts and when i turn up the bass they sound like crap!
It's a PITA to put 6x9's in an Integra, IMO, more trouble than it's worth. Fosgate's, I feel, have good bass response. But I have a sub so I got pioneer, because I liked the way they sounded at higher frequency.
well the thing is when i turn it up my fron Cerwin Vegas are fine but the rear sonys have a pop whenever the bass hits. i want some that won't do that. my range would be at approx $50-100 maybe a lill bit more. i don't want to mask the popping with a sub. as you can see i have a pair of subs for sale.

well the thing is i want get the same deal that i got for the front but i can't....i got the component set for 50 bux....and shipping brought it to 70 bux even....for the componet set!!!! now even the speakers alone will cost me like $89 w/out shipping.
I do not know much about speakers. I have a sub and now want to upgrade my speakers. What is a good wattage of speakers to get good sound? I found some 80 watt Pioneer speakers...any good? Thanks
well it totally depends on the speaker. some perform better than others. also, look at the RMS rating. don't look at the max rating. most likely the RMS of those pioneers are about 30 watts RMS.
Thanks a lot! What is a good RMS if I'm just looking for good quality, not really the best. I want to hear the vocals in my songs instead of just all bass. (DJ's) Thanks
You have to take so many things into account. Frequency response, speaker level (db @ 1 watt @ 1 meter), and power handling. RMS (route mean squared) is what they can handle at a constant level. Distortion is important too, the less, the better. Most of these CD players that advertise 45-50 watts per channel only put out 19 or 20 watts RMS.
Boston Acqoustic with components will sound great and give you some smooth bass. You will need to amp em up. Its a mid range woofer with a tweeter and crossover.
The run like $250 a pair
OR
Try lesser brands but good quality such as infinity, or crystal. Crystals are great.

whoever said 6.5's dont give out bass...your wrong. Actually, DD (Digital Designs - http://www.ddaudio.com), a company who retails one of the best and loudest 15's (over 170 dB with 1 15!) on the market, has a 6.5" Midbass driver (DDW6.5). Their rms is 150-200 watts, and have a natraul rollover at 3500 Hz, and they've been said to hit better than 8's. You can also either put them in a really small box, or just put them in your factory speaker holes (there really deep, but if you have a G3 teg, you dont have to worry). Plus, there only 90 bucks a peice, relatively cheap. Also, you were saying you dont want to just cover up the popping with bass. 6.5's arent meant to give deep bass, so dont try to make them. You should have a sub to do the mean bass, thats why people put crossovers on speakers, because speakers are for sound, not for thump. Put crossovers on your speakers and use your subs for the bass. peace
