Alright im putting an ls in my 92 hatch...the motor is a 92 which was converted to obd0 and then now im putting it back to obd1. But heres the deal. I took off the intake manifold and changed the gasket. It was running good before i changed it. Then when i put it back in its not running right at all. I checked the timing..Its right on. All the sensors are hooked up. And the only code im throwing is 41 which is primary o2. But it back fires like mad and i cant figure this out. So if anyone has any ideas of what it could be...let me know asap. I also just change the cap to make sure it wasnt that. The only other thing i will try is the rotor tomarrow. But it ran fine before i did the intake manifold so i dont think it would be that anyways....any ideas???????!!!!!!!!!!?!?!?

 

This may be dumb and stating the obvious but did you check the o2 sensor ?

 

yeah but would that make it backfire like hell to where it couldnt rev? any ideas?

 

Possibly, It could be making your mixture really rich.

 

Are you sure you dont have an air leak at the intake manifold...I know that'll make a car backfire real bad and not rev worth a crap...Check those intake manifold bolts again...Let the car idle then spray carb cleaner around the bottom of the intake manifold and see if the idles changes(most of the time it'lll idle higher)..If the idle does change then you have a leak at the manifold...Thats just what i would check first...
