Default Need some info on block and rods

My friend and I are thinking about building and high hp civic but I want some info from anyone about an open deck sleeved block. Do you guys think this block will be good for our build ? or just get a sleeved block with with a guard support up top like the darton mid sleeve ......and i need some info on gpr aluminum rods i heard that these rods are only good for like 50 passes ....don't know if this is true thats why i need some info cuz i interested in getting a set for our build .....we're shooting for 780-850hp with a bw 372

can someone help me out thanks for your time

IMO your going to want to contact someone like rota92 who can get you what you need at fair prices. He deals with Golden Eagle. PM him, he can share lots of knowledge with you.

You can also contact guy's like Jeff@Tempest or Tony1. They also have lots of good info.

I see your from MA, rota's from north centeral CT.

Supposedly there is a "sportsman" car that has been on the same set of aluminum rods for 2 full seasons now. Seems to be the only part in the motor that hasn't broken yet lol

I love them. Some people have issues with them but i think thats just due to the lack of knowledge out there. I have done a good amount of 4 cyl engines with them over the years from honda, toyota 3sgte to 4g63 stroker engines and have yet to have any issues. I will say that GRP makes a superior rod compared to some of the others i have used in the past.

i know of people going 1 season on same rods & they are still good but change them anyways. always good 2 start new season on a fresh motor

thanks for the info guys ....any more info about the open deck sleeved block fo high hp? ...........i seen of video on youtube of courtney green hatch on the dyno and it says his setup and i saw that he had a exospeed open deck sleeves and he made 802 .....so what do guys think about open deck or is there anything i can do to it so it can have more support for high boost ...... i hear some ppl weld a block guard in there for support ......need help

Open deck ,Closed deck, its been proven they both work well. If the build is done right and the tuner does his part, you can get either to work for you....

that is very tru. it is deff in the tune.
ive seen some of these honda guys buy these e-bay kits & push 20lbs with a AFC & when i asked about timing they say "what timing" lol needless to say 2 weeks latter i catch wind that the motor blew up. over & over again but most of us aint that crazy i hope.
