Default hood latch

i have a 91 civic hatch with a carbon fiber hood and im having some problems closing the hood. It wont latch down properly and only grabs on to the big hook and wont actually shut all the way. The latch mechanism looks so simple and i dont see what is broken about it. anyone have a clue on how to fix it?

ughm you might want to concider getting hood pins since you have a cf hood. and since it doesnt latch down all the way, i hope your not driving it like that.

What kind of hood is it?

Can you get pictures of how it's not latching?

Has the car ever been hit?

Did the old hood do this?

i forget what size the bolt is (12 or 14). loosen the bolt under the spring on the hood latch and take a flat head and adjust the tension. mine did that after before, and after about 3 mins of adjusting the hood closed fine.

You need a new peices in pic number 2 the part where the top goes into.
There supossed to be a flap that catches and locks down.

The part im talking about is the vagina, obviously the dick is stuck to the hood.

Is your actual latch moving freely? It looks like maybe its jammed up from the first picture. When i bought my car someone had actually painted over the sprint part of the latch, causing it not to shut. A hammer and some WD40 fixed it right up.
