What can i expect from this mustang?
My brother just bought a 88 lx 5.0 mustang last week. To get right to the point i wanted to know how bad im going to get my *** kicked. It has 2.5" h-pipe, 2.5 inch flowmaster exhaust, 3.73 posi, intake....this is a 5spd by the way.
I know alot of people hate these kind of questions but just give me an idea. I would race him right now but he lives 3 hours away. Im going up monday.

It depends on the strength of the engine in his Stang. If it's been taken care of, tuned up, proper maintenence, etc. I believe it would be in the neighborhood of 14.6-14.8. If he can drive worth a...
Depends....if the guys got a good diff and tires, should be good for low 14's/high 13's pretty easy. Low 13's with a good driver and slicks/drag radials. However, the Ford Trac-Lok diffs usually wear out their clutches every 30-45k, after which they operate just like an open diff. If his is gone, and many of them are, he won't be able to launch worth anything with 3.73 gears. He'll still take you, but he'll have to work for it. Good diff/tires/driver...say goodbye in a major way.
BTW, if you're wondering, I used to roll a '90 LX 5.0 5-speed, so I'm not just talking out my ***.
