Default Tranny fluid...what to use with the Quaife?

I'm thinking 10W-30. Anyone have any pros or cons for synth vs. organic, or something else such as Honda MTF or Redline?

Thanks,

Mike

I've heard distilled water works well. Try it!

Default Try this..

Here is what I did. I have a ZC LSD (clutch-type) and have been having lots of problems with excessive grinding of the friction disks. I put in just over a bottle and a half of 'GM Limited Slip Differential Fluid' filled the remainder with MTF and now the tranny works better than it ever has. A magical mystery fluid, and it came from GM. Use this if yours is clutch-type or if it is Torsen/Gear-type try 'GM Synchro-mesh Fluid' with your MTF. Just talked with a friend today who put this in his ITR per Acura recommendation. I don't like GM stuff very much but they do make good transmission lubricants.

Honda MTL or BG Syncroshift II.

Don't use Redline. Doesn't work well on Honda synchros.

I just had a Quaife installed in my 2WD 91 Honda Civic Wagon. I had the same question. The answer I got from Quaife was to go with the same oil I had been using before. I've got 8000 miles on it now and have had no problems. Their phone number is 949-240-4000.

I'm voting for Honda MTF. If you want to try something more "exotic", then try the Synchroshift... I believe most of the DSM specialty shops will carry it.
