What 4.9 final drive will work with a YS1 lsd? ATS?

 

If it is the factory LSD...there is no 4.9 FD that will fit your application. The factory LSD has a different bolt pattern Unless it is a Type R LSD then it will not work...sorry.

 

What will work then? 4.7? I believe I have a 4.4 now yes? What can I do with this tranny? Gears?

 

Would it be better to sell the YS1 LSD and pick up a non lsd b16 tranny?

Can someone tel me what the differnce is between b16a tranny and ys1 lsd?

I would keep the YS-1 as it has interchangeable internals with Hydro B-series transmissions. Find either a Type R LSD or an aftermarket LSD like a Kaaz, Cusco, Quaife, or an Autotech Wavetrac. They are a little pricey but, final drive swaps are a snap and they will bolt right in.

Do not get a B16: y-1 or j-1</U>
Althought these transmissions worked great in their time...there are no replacement parts available for them for the most part. No one makes final gears for these older transmissions as well. YS-1 and Hydro transmissions do not interchange with these ones.
