I'm running a turbo I purchased from tunerzimage.com. I haven't had any problems with it yet, however, if I can avoid a smoking turbo by using an oil restrictor that's exactly what I will do. I've been searching on this site and found that a -3 oil line didn't need an oil restrictor while a -4 oil line should be using the oil restrictor to avoid blowing seals. Well the above image is the oil line I am using purchased from tunertoys.com. Can anyone tell from the pic what size the line is and should I be using an oil restrictor to prolong the life of the seals of my turbo? Here is the restricitor I have been looking at: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...ZWDVW
It's a small price to pay to protect my investment until I can purchase a Garrett in the future. So should I use an oil restrictor?

I believe that's an old picture of when I was using -4 lines, but we've used -3 feedlines for more than 2 years now. Tunertoys.com being our #1 distributor.
If your turbo isn't ball bearing, you don't need an oil restrictor. Check with tunerzimage though so you don't void any warranty.

Yes, in that in your quest for "safety" you could potentially ruin your turbo by adding an oil restrictor when it isn't needed. Journal bearing systems need the right amount of oil to float that thrust bearing.
If it is -3AN, no restrictor.
More importantly is ensuring that there are no 90 degree angles or kinks in your return line, and is properly gravity fed.

in my opinion you should always run a restrictor. honda motors have high oil pressure.
.035 restrictor for ball bearing turbos and .065 for non ball bearing turbos.
my non bb t3 60-1 started smoking with my non restricted .-3 oil line and the problem was fixed with a .065 restrictor.
gt BB turbo require much less oil and will blow very fast with out a restrictor because most hondas see close to 100 psi of oil pressure

Dang that's an old picture!
We've been selling Stealthmode Oil Lines for about five years now, without one customer issue, that's why they are the only oil lines we sell.
