those of you with beat in the trunk
do you guys have a problem with the trunk carpet movin because of the subwoofer box? my carpet is always focked up and i always gotta move it back in place. those velcro straps aint holdin it down for shiet. any suggestions or tricks on how to fix this?
yea hook your trunk up right with beauty panels and bolt everything in so it dont move.
slowhitels,
i have it mounted on my backseat. its cleaner that way. so i have to come up with another idea.
Yeah I just took a piece of thin plywood cut it to the shape of the trunk floor cut a flap and put hinges on that for access to the spare and such and bolted the thing down, used carpet tape to adhere the felt/carpet stuff to it......
gives me a good base to screw things down too, i.e. sub box, netting to hold stuff down, etc

when i used to have 2 subs, it never moved, but now, i only have one and the box is 1/2 the size of the old one, and that **** gets thrown all around, snapping off the speaker wire.

I use to have the problem with my 2-10's in my band pass, the box would always slide around. I changed out my box, and now have 2-10's in a small sealed enclosure. I custom made the box to that it fit snug inbetween the wheelwells, and under my spoon rear upper tie bar. I pulled the carpet tight towards the back, and then slid the box forward. So now the weight of the box keeps the carpet from moving because of the friction between the box and the carpet. Know what I'm sayin?

DLPlayboy: don't worry your not the only one.. I drive pretty hard and I love to take corners quick and my sub box and carpet slides around sometimes.. since my 3 - 12's take up the bulk of my trunk I don't really use it as a trunk/to store anything.. so for me "out of sight out of mind" and I just left it to slide around Lolz... I use the passenger foot well (if I don't have a passenger) or the rear seats/rear foot area as cargo space Lolz..
you can drill a screw/washer and secure it w/ a washer and nut at the corners of the carpet if you want I guess...

They put my box right after they glued it and carpeted to gether. The glue is sticky and stuck to carpet so the weight of box holds the carpet down....the velcro patches also help alotl.
I just used those white sticky strips that you put under a rug on a wood floor. They have a honeycomb type look. I didn't think it would work but it did. I tried velcro but it still slid around.
it's weird, my box with one 10" used to slide around a ton in my old car, but in the teg it doesn't move. It's the same box and I drive damn crazy at times. Even 70mph, instant lane changes don't budge it.
